Webinar: Understanding Eating Disorders and Promoting Healthy Relationships with Food
Eating Disorders Awareness Week will take place from 27 February to 5 March 2023. With figures released by the NHS last year showing that record numbers of children in the UK are receiving treatment for eating disorders – and, alarmingly, that the percentage is rising sharply year on year – it is becoming increasingly important that school staff understand the scale of this issue and that schools are equipped to be able to detect and offer appropriate support as a community.
In response, The National College is partnering with Anna Bateman, mental health expert and DfE advisor, to deliver the following webinar. This webinar will provide you with a clearer understanding of eating disorders in children and what schools can do to promote healthy attitudes towards food and body image as part of a whole-school approach to preventing these illnesses.
