Maths Hub: Research and Innovation Working Group for Culture Capital
Research and Innovation Working Group for Culture Capital
The Maths Hub East Midlands West team are excited to share this new research and innovation workgroup.
This Work Group will explore Cultural Capital from a Primary perspective. It will include sharing experiences of how different children learn and understanding how the power of research can inform our practice and ultimately make a difference to children.
The learning challenges that our most vulnerable pupils face have only been highlighted since the start of the pandemic.
The aim of this Work Group (the first of its kind) is to reconceptualise the notion of Cultural Capital in relation to teaching maths for mastery and, through quality and equity-minded teaching, interrupt the deterministic relationship between cultural capital and mathematics attainment.
