Summer 2023 – Primary Teaching Internship Programme for Final Year Students

The Primary Teaching Internship Programme is commencing this summer at Chetwynd Spencer Academy and Wyndham Spencer Academy!

We are offering a 3-week placement from 19th June to 7th July 2023 for those currently studying in the final year of their degree at university and are interested in teaching Primary in 2023/24.

This programme offers an insight into teaching as a career and will allow interns to work with current trainees, ECTs, teachers and leaders. You’ll gain classroom experience, support pupils, shadow experienced teachers, observe lessons and lots more!

Each intern will also receive £1,000 for full attendance and active participation in the programme.

PRIMARY SCIENCE SUBJECT LEADER ‘BOOT CAMP’ – ASSESSMENT, MODERATION, MONITORING AND SCIENCE CAPITAL

Derbyshire Services for Schools: CPD Opportunities

We’re excited to sign post Derbyshire Local Authority’s new website to promote CPD opportunities across the region!

Derbyshire Services for Schools is the home of all discretionary training offered by Derbyshire County Council to schools, academies, and education settings. They provide scheduled and on-demand training, delivered in-person or through MS Teams as well as access to support resources and session recordings.

The We are Derbyshire CPD workstream aims to signpost the CPD offer from non-commercial national and regional providers with a footprint in Derbyshire.

Free National Literacy Trust Events

The National Literacy Trust is hosting free live events for schools in November.One event is a session with National Geographic journalist and editor Tim Herbert which will explore writing for the planet and top tips for writing non-fiction, this is suitable for KS2 pupils. The other is a poetry workshop with Waterstones Children’s Laureate Joseph Coelho, which is suitable for KS4 and KS5 pupils.
